The Daily Dig
Living in Southern California has many perks. We have amazing weather, beaches, mountains, and the desert. One of my other favorites is The Tournament of Roses Parade. One can camp out for days and hope to get a good view of these magnificent floats, or wait till the parade is over and see them close up like I did. Anyone can come by and visit the floats for two days following the parade for a nominal fee. It is so worth it! The detail, creativity, and craftsmanship that is put into the floats is amazing. Television does not do this parade justice! (Click on main photo to see more pictures and see for yourself) Rose Parade fun fact: It is a rule of the parade that all surfaces of the float framework be covered in natural material (such as flowers, plants, seaweeds, seeds, bark, vegetables, or nuts, for example); furthermore, no artificial flowers or plant material are allowed, nor can the materials be artificially colored.

I love the photos!! I would much rather see beautiful close up photos of the parade than have to watch it on tv.
