The Daily Dig
While on a recent trip to Oakland, my friend Albin took me to Berkeley Horticultural Nursery. I'm glad he did! What an amazing nursery. They have a wide variety of plants and pottery and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. (Click on main image to see more photos)
I'm always on the lookout for pottery and Berkeley Horticultural did not disappoint. They carry a line of terracotta pots from Mexico that are hand thrown and have a vintage feel to them. Some of the unusual characteristics are in the details--pinched rims, applied handles, scalloped shingles, and art deco designs. The ones I priced were between $12.00-$45.00.
If you get a chance and live nearby, go check them out. Now how am I gonna get all these pots on the plane?
